Gosaikunda Lake is one of the holy lakes to the Hindus and Buddhist religion. People visit this place at least once a year, during the festival of Janai Purnima, full moon day. According to Hindu tradition, Gosainkunda lake is home to Lord Shiva and his wife Gauri. Devotees kindly believe that pleasing a dip into this holy lake rinse away their sins and agony. People believe that they can see the reflection of Lord Shiva in the lake.
Including, the beautiful lake, this trek offers the stunning view of Langtang Mountain Ranges, 5520m to 7234m, Dorje Lakpa, 6966m, Ganesh Himal, Manasalu, 8156m, and other surrounded peaks.
Succeeding through the Trishuli River north out of Kathmandu, you will drive through the Trishuli Bazar and Dhunche to Syabrubesi, the Sherpa and Tamang village situated at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. You will turn east into the Langtang valley. You will enjoy your hike through the beautiful forest of Oak and Rhododendron and even glacial moraine on your way to the Tamang village of Langtang valley.
A slight ahead up the valley is Kyanging Gompa, 3800m, where you stop overnight and taste the local yak cheese. While descending, you will hike through the Thulo Syabru and Sing Gompa to the high plateau, where the holy lake Gosaikunda is situated. You will continue to south trail after crossing Laure Benaya pass, 4610m, a departure from Langtang region behind as you hike through the Helambu valley to Gul Bhanjyang.
