Helambu Trek

Helambu is one of the short treks and most demanding trekking routes in the Langtang region. Time to Nepal Treks and Tours offer 5 to 7 days of this trekking route at the best price and itinerary. There is an alternative to start your trek, either Melamchi Bazaar about 60 km, or via Sundarijal from Kathmandu. Situated northeast of Kathmandu, it encompasses from the north of Tamarang to the tree limit of Gosaikunda Lake lower slant of Jugal Himal. There you will explore the Hyolmo culture of high altitude through Tamang and Sherpa villages, disseminated on both sides of the Melamchi Khola.

The valley of Glacier, Langtang offers a stunning view of the Mountain range. Hike through the pine forest, slow-moving river, mountain streams, rugged rocky trail, grassy downs, and surrounded snow peaks is the most exciting part of this trek. In the high land of the valley, snow bridges are straddling angry torrents, high passes encircled in mist, small frozen lakes, and brightness of crystal-clear water.

Helambu trek is a comparatively soft trek because the altitude is lower, extending between 800m and 3600m, offering less cliff walk as well as stable temperature. Helambu trek starts from Sundarijal, Shivapuri National Park after an hour’s drive from Kathmandu. You will hike along the Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati, and Sermathang, you will finish your trek at the Melamchi Bazaar in the Helambu region. You will pass through exploring the thick mountain, forests with stunning Himalayan views, rice terraces, and several splendid Buddhist monasteries.
